Supporting Local Artists
The St. Louis Church Concert Series is dedicated to nurturing and promoting local talent. We believe in the importance of providing a platform for artists within our community to showcase their talents and share their passion for music. By featuring local musicians in our concerts, we help to foster a vibrant arts scene and support the creative economy in Howard County.
Our commitment to local artists includes offering performance opportunities in various settings, whether through intimate recitals, large-scale concerts, or collaborative events. These performances not only enhance the cultural fabric of our community but also allow artists to gain exposure, develop their skills, and connect with new audiences.
Building Partnerships for a Better Community
We are proud to collaborate with several outstanding local organizations that share our vision of a stronger, more supportive community. Our partnerships include:
Howard Community College Fueling Dragons Food Pantry
Since 2020, we have hosted a food donation drive at our annual Christmas at St. Louis concert, and since 2021 have donated nearly 1,500 pounds of food and personal care items to the Howard Community College “Fueling Dragons” initiative. This important community partnership provides essential resources to students facing food insecurity, ensuring they have the sustenance needed to succeed in their studies.
St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore Head Start Program
We are honored to support the St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore Head Start Program, which offers early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families. During our 2024 spring concert, “The Glory of Spring”, we collected almost 200 pieces of clothing to donate to the program.
The Baltimore Station
The Baltimore Station provides comprehensive support to veterans and others transitioning from homelessness and addiction to self-sufficiency. During our 2023 Spring concert “From Sea to Shining Sea” we collected clothing and personal care items to donate to their critical mission.
